Special Olympics Young Athlete Program Returning To Revere Next Month
February 14, 2017
This past fall, the Special Olympics returned to Revere after a long absence with a successful “Young Athletes” program for children age 2-7 with intellectual disabilities.
Building on this success, the Special Olympics will host another free, six-session program starting on March 11, 2017. Sessions will be one hour long, on Saturdays from 11 AM-12 PM.
Once again, the Paul Revere School gymnasium will host.
“We’re excited to once again host the Special Olympics in our community,” said Mayor Brian Arrigo. “My office and the Revere Public Schools are committed to working with Revere parents to help give all of our kids opportunities to thrive.”
The Special Olympics Young Athletes program is a free, unique sports & play program focusing on fun activities important to mental and physical growth. The program serves as an introduction to sports and the world of Special Olympics.
The program is volunteer-driven; those interested in volunteering should contact Enza Goodwin at 781-485-7163 or email etumb@comcast.net with any questions.
Children can be registered to participate in the free program at specialolympicsma.org/YARegistration.
