Water Meters
Water meters can be purchased at 319 Charger Street at the DPW Water and Sewer billing office. A valid plumbing permit is required prior to obtaining a water meter. A second meter can be purchased for irrigation and outdoor use. These meters will be charged for water only.
All water meters shall be located indoors, protected from the elements or other outside intrusions, and shall be readily accessible. The owner is responsible for ensuring that the meter is located in a safe indoor location, accessible and free from obstructions or obstacles, and is not hindered, attached or encased in any manner that would make it difficult or impossible to access, repair, remove, or replace. If a meter fails for these reasons, the property owner is responsible for the cost of a replacement.
All meters ranging in size from 5/8 inch to 1 inch are protected by a 15-year warranty from the manufacturer date. All meters ranging in size from 1.5 inch are protected by a 10-year warranty from the manufacture date. If a meter fails after the warranty has expired, the property owner is responsible for the cost of a replacement.
Please call the Water and Sewer Billing department for most accurate pricing on meter costs.
