Mayor Arrigo Invites All Residents To 2016 Memorial Day Exercises

May 20, 2016

Mayor Brian Arrigo and the City of Revere Veterans Services office cordially invites all Revere residents to the City’s 2016 Memorial Day exercises, to be held on Monday, May 30. The ceremony will begin at 11 AM on the lawn of the American Legion building, located next to City Hall at 249 Broadway. In the event of inclement weather, the event may be moved inside the American Legion building.

As part of the annual tradition, the names of Revere’s war dead from the Revolutionary War through the current day will be read aloud. Greetings will also be offered by the Mayor, State Senator Joseph Boncore, Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo, and Representative RoseLee Vincent.

Veterans’ sacrifice will also be honored through musical performances and the laying of ceremonial wreaths.

“I hope residents will take time on Memorial Day to honor those who have sacrificed so bravely on our behalf,” said Mayor Arrigo. “Revere is fortunate to be home to many veterans, and it is our duty as Americans to show our gratitude any way we can.”

With any questions, please call Director of Veterans Services, Nicholas Bua, at 781-286-8119, or the Office of the Mayor at 781-286-8111.
