City of Revere Launches Economic Development Website

November 6, 2014

Newly established website will streamline, market, and promote new business development

Revere - Today Mayor Rizzo announced the launch of Revere’s first economic development website, revereontherise.org which will help streamline, market, and promote new business development throughout the City of Revere. The roll out of this new website is part of the Mayor’s overall plan to enhance economic development opportunities while fostering job creation in the City of Revere.

Revere has enormous potential and much of its strength is derived through a diverse and talented labor pool, a 2 ½ mile stretch of oceanfront, and its proximity to Logan Airport and Downtown Boston. However, it is a city that has its challenges as well. Like many other older urban cities, Revere struggles with an aging infrastructure, many outdated and overburdened streets and highways, and a prior lack of planning for the long term. These have all been barriers to growth, but are all being worked on now to build for the future. Dozens of projects are already underway or scheduled to commence in the next few years, and that will go a long way towards stabilizing our local economy and residential tax rates. This particular initiative builds on lessons learned from previous major construction projects, and best practices that are being used around the country for successful growth implementation. It will be all encompassing and focused on streamlining information, documents, and other resources in relation to economic development.

“Revere’s long term plan and path forward towards future growth and prosperity may not be a simple one, but it is one that in the end will make our city better and stronger for residents, businesses, and visitors. As we look to increase public and private investment over the coming years, RevereontheRise will be a source of information and a clearing house for all things relating to development in the city,” stated Mayor Rizzo.

The new economic development website is part of a larger strategy to continue to market, develop, and enhance Revere’s commercial tax base in a thoughtful and transparent way. The City of Revere will be hosting a second Economic Development Summit which will take place on Friday November 21st from 9:00am through 1:00pm at Revere Showcase Cinema (565 Squire Road). Regional policy experts will cover subjects ranging from transportation investment along with success stories in development in Revere.
