About Us
The Accounting & Auditing Department protects the fiduciary interests of the City by ensuring that the financial records are accurately maintained and preserved while utilizing sound accounting and auditing practices in accordance with GAAP and local, state, and federal laws.
The Accounting & Auditing Department responsibilities includes, but are not limited to, the annual preparation and submission of the Schedule A and Free Cash Certification filings, creating and filing 1099’s, reviewing vendor invoices and submitting for payment, reviewing weekly payroll, reconciling special revenue funds with all departments, reconciling cash with the Treasurer/Collector, general ledger accounting entries, general ledger maintenance and working directly with department staff to ensure accuracy of the financial management system.
The City Auditor is the Ex-Officio member of the City’s Retirement Board and has oversight over the Retirement Board Staff also located within City Hall.
