Important Message about Gas Meter Exchanges
Massachusetts state law mandates that gas meters be replaced every seven years at no cost to customers. National Grid has made various attempts to contact natural gas customers who are due for a gas meter exchange. We will continue to reach out through text messages, emails, mailed letters, and automated phone calls until the necessary mandated meter exchange is scheduled.
We kindly ask that you do not overlook this outreach. Failure to schedule the required gas meter exchange could result in a temporary disconnection. Upon scheduling, the National Grid technician will need approximately 30 minutes to complete the meter replacement. Please note, someone aged 18 or older must be present at home.
