Revere Veterans Service Office Invites Residents to Memorial Day Exercises

May 23, 2023

Memorial Brick Project Unveiling and Keynote Speaker Andrew Biggio US Marine

REVERE, MA – The Revere Veterans Service Office announced Memorial Day Exercises for 2023 will take place on Monday, May 29 at 10:30 AM at McMackin Veterans Memorial Park (formally known as American Legion Lawn on Broadway). Joined at the event will be local elected officials, veterans and their families, as well as guest motivational speaker and author Andrew Biggio (US Marine).

“It’s time to honor our fallen,” said Marc Silvestri, Director of Veterans Services and City Councillor. “The Memorial Day exercise is one of my favorite events to be a part of. It’s a privilege to recognize all who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms we enjoy each day.”

Throughout the year, the Veterans Service Office has been hosting a fundraiser to help veterans of Revere with emergency support. In the fundraiser, residents were able to honor a veteran or loved one who has served in the military, to be featured on the Charles J. McMackin Veterans Memorial Park. At the exercises, the bricks will be unveiled and all those who purchased one are encouraged to attend. Following the exercises and short speaking program is a barbeque. All are welcome.
