Recent Revere Police Department Investigation

March 25, 2013

After a 3 month investigation by Revere, Winthrop, Lynn, Saugus and the Massachusetts State Police s officers arrested two Brothers Juan Delarosa and Rafael Delarosa along with a cousin Canuelas Nieves. Both Delarosa brothers have been arrested by Revere and Winthrop police for various alleged drug offenses in the recent past and those cases remain open. The arrest and search warrants executed in Lynn resulted in the seizure of 150 grams of heroin, 55 grams of cocaine, metal plates and steel rods that are commonly used to compact heroin and cocaine into kilo size packages, and a finger press which is a metal press that packages heroin into ten gram tube shaped packages called fingers. The investigation started after Revere and Winthrop detectives became aware that the Delarosa brothers continued to distribute narcotics in the community even after being previously arrested. The regional approach is a must in these cases. The drugs are distributed with couriers and it is necessary to find the location of the packaging and storage locations of the larger amounts of illegal narcotics. The cooperation between the local departments is becoming a necessary tool to combat the changing techniques that these organized drug operations are adopting. It can be difficult to conduct investigations that cross city lines but even more difficult across county lines. Detectives from The DEA task force 2 made up from officers from Revere, Saugus, Everett, and Malden also assisted in the investigation. The case is testament to the cooperation between the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and their commitment to investigations that have a direct effect on the quality of life in the community.
