Elder Affairs Building Construction

November 18, 2015

The Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center roof will be undergoing a complete renovation that will result in a brand new roof. The roof work will start within the first week of December which begins Monday, November 30th and continue through mid to late January. A specific end-date and return to the Rossetti-Cowan Senior is not determined at this time.

This roof work means that the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center will be closed to seniors and the general public due to safety and facility issues. Effective Monday, November 30th the Senior Center will be relocating to another building. Once a temporary location is confirmed and logistics are finalized updated information will be deciminated to seniors and the public.

We will only be able offer a modified meals program. The December menu has already gone to the printer and will be altered, dependent upon several factors relating to this temporary location. Please be aware seniors will be informed that the staff and I will do our best to ensure we provide them with as much as information as possible during this time period. The January menu is not created as of today and will be modified as we move forward. We will continue the shuttle van service as usual to and from this temporary building as well as to and from outside appointments with some adjustments.

All Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center programs, activities, and services will be suspended until we return to the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center. Again, a modified meals program and shuttle van service will be available.

During this 4-8 week period, updates, notifications, and information will be available through Revere TV, the Revere Journal and Revere Advocate, the upcoming January newsletter, the Elder Affairs department web page on www.Revere.org, and through word-of-mouth.

This roof work is a result of the current mayoral administration and our state delegation securing special legislation allowing funds available that will improve our quality of life and environment at the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center.

Thank you.
