City of Revere Provides Important COVID-19 Updates for Residents

Monday, December 21, 2020 – Today the City of Revere provided several important COVID-19 updates for residents heading into the holiday week. This morning the Revere Board of Health recorded 60 new cases of COVID-19 among residents. Revere is now averaging 80 new cases a day and its 14-day positivity rate is 11.3%.
- Limited testing availability: Residents are advised that testing capacity will be limited in the days following the Christmas and New Year's holidays, and should not rely on testing as a means to safeguard holiday gatherings. With Federal CARES funding expiring on December 31, testing at the Rosetti Cowan Senior Center will end on December 29. Testing locations and hours are updated and available at revere.org/coronavirus.
- Safe holiday celebrations: The safest way to celebrate the upcoming holidays is at home with the people you live with. Residents are being advised to avoid travel and gatherings to protect their loved ones and prevent ICUs from being overwhelmed. - City Hall operating hours: City Hall and City offices will be open until 12:15 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 and will be closed on Thursday, December 24, 2020 and Friday, December 25, 2020. City employees will be working remotely from Monday, December 28 – Wednesday, December 30 but City offices will be fully closed Thursday, December 31 and Friday, January 1.
