Broadway overhaul continues: Update on ongoing work
May 15, 2017
In 2013, the City of Revere received a MassWorks infrastructure grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to complete a revitalization of Broadway, including repaving the road and sidewalks and installing ornamental lighting.
This year, that work is being completed, with repavement of the stretch of Broadway from Mountain Ave to Brown Circle, including the installation of ornamental lighting between Mountain Ave and Revere St.
The milling phase of the Broadway repaving begins on Sunday, May 21, with night time work taking place to minimize the impact on traffic flow. Barring unexpected delays, this should be complete by Tuesday, May 23.
Last week, crews began sawcutting down the middle of a portion of Broadway to install the electrical conduits necessary for the installation of ornamental lighting.
Because the road was previously repaved in 2014 without first installing the conduits, this work includes sawcutting and repaving portions of Broadway that were already paved as part of the initial project. The City apologizes for any inconvenience to drivers and pedestrians.
The Mayor’s office will continue to publish updates about roadwork and construction projects as information becomes available.
