Beautify Revere to kick off for 2017 with citywide Earth Day cleanup on April 22
February 23, 2017
After a successful series of cleanup events in 2016, Beautify Revere returns to kick off 2017 with a citywide, Earth Day cleanup on Saturday, April 22, from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM.
“Revere residents showed their pride in their community at every Beautify Revere event in 2016,” said Mayor Brian Arrigo. “I greatly appreciate all of the neighborhood groups, organizations, and dedicated volunteers who helped make last year a success. I’m looking forward to another great event on Earth Day.”
Neighborhood groups around the City will host multiple staging locations for the event, which will have cleaning supplies, first aid, t-shirts, and light refreshments for volunteers. At each location’s check-in table, residents will be assigned to a clean up a street or a park.
Volunteers are needed both for cleanup on the day, and to help with outreach by delivering flyers in the neighborhoods advertising the event in advance. Those interested in volunteering should contact Elle Baker, Neighborhood Organizer for Revere on the Move, at 781-286-8188, or ebaker@revere.org.
A full list of staging locations will be published in local newspapers and at www.revere.org/beautify-revere two weeks prior to the event date. That website will also update volunteers on any weather-related changes leading up to the event.
Later this year, the Beautify Revere series will continue with a citywide graffiti wipeout event, as well as a public art initiative. The date and details of these efforts will be announced in the coming months.
