Revere PD Sergeant Honored at State House
April 8, 2013
Revere Police Detective Sergeant Steven Pisano was honored today at the State House with the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance’s Access to Justice Award. The award is bestowed annually upon “an individual survivor, service provider, agency or organization (criminal justice or community-based) whose leadership and outreach efforts have made victim rights and services more available and accessible to underserved populations.” Pisano, now in his third decade with the department, was nominated for the award by members of Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office for his tireless work on behalf of crime victims, especially child victims of physical and sexual abuse.
“Sgt. Pisano brings the finest traditions of police work into a modern age that’s anything but old-fashioned,” Conley said. “His ability to build trust with victims, witnesses, and their families has made the difference over and over again. This is an extremely important award to those of us in victim services, and it’s going to just the right person.”
