The mission of the Parks Division is to provide operations, programs, and ground maintenance and repair relative to parks and playgrounds, athletic fields, recreation, forestry, and all public building grounds including street islands and memorials.
In addition to these responsibilities, this office is in charge of the maintenance and management of the City's urban forest through scopes such as planting, pruning, and the inspecting of City trees, select, purchase and install plants, clean up of storm damage, condemned tree removals, contracted forestry services and tree plantings. It also works to maintain ground irrigation systems.
The Parks Division is responsible for providing staff and technical support to the various departments within the City of Revere during the many varied community events offered throughout the year.
During winter months, the Division teams with workers from other divisions of the DPW to conduct snow and ice removal and other various winter operations required throughout the City.
