Mayor Thomas G. Ambrosino and the Department of Public Works have announced that the Citys street sweeping program commenced on Tuesday, April 17,2001 and that for the duration of the program, certain parking restrictions will be in effect. The program will conclude on or about November 30th.
These parking restrictions are limited to those streets which are swept on a daily basis, stated the Mayor. Businesses and residents should note that the parking restrictions are intended solely to have streets free from vehicles while the sweeper is on the street. Once the street sweeper completes its cleaning, vehicles may return to park, even if the no parking period has not yet expired.
Although the following streets are swept on a daily basis, the parking restrictions do not necessarily require that streets be clear of vehicles each day. In some instances, cars will need to be removed just one day per week.
1. Broadway (East Side): No Parking 5:00 a.m. 6:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays
2. Broadway (West Side): No Parking 5:00 a.m. 6:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesdays

The Mayor concluded, One of the items stressed during my campaign for the Mayors office was the Citys need to focus on and improve upon quality of life issues. Implementing a regular, consistent street sweeping program in all areas of the City is part of the effort to accomplish this goal.
